How RoundZero works
What is free, how you can play, and who can see your campaign content.
Will I have to pay to use the app?
No. The core app is free, including character sheets, campaign chat, dice, maps, and combat tools. Optional AI features and external chat integrations are paid extras.
Can I have more than one campaign?
Yes. You can create multiple campaigns as a DM and join campaigns as a player. Both are available in the free core app.
Does everyone need to be online at the same time?
No. Players can post and take their turns when they have time. You can also use RoundZero during live sessions, between sessions, or as a standalone VTT.
Do you only support D&D?
For now, yes. The VTT can already be used generically with manual HP edits and emoji conditions, but automated rolls and status effects are still D&D-specific. Want another system? Join our Discord and tell us what you want to see. Pathfinder, Tormenta 20, and Vampire: The Masquerade are planned, using available SRD content.
I don't like AI. Will it get in the way?
AI features are separate from the core app, optional, and off unless you enable them. RoundZero was built with AI assistance and includes AI-generated placeholder images and text. You can use the app without generating any additional AI content or using an AI DM.
Are my campaign messages private?
Campaign messages are private to campaign members. They are sent to an AI provider or an external chat service such as Discord only if your campaign explicitly enables that feature or integration. Hosting and storage providers still process data to run RoundZero.
