Terms of Service

1. The service

RoundZero is a play-by-post and async VTT toolkit for tabletop campaigns, including chat, dice, character tools, maps, and related features. The service may change, and some features may be experimental, incomplete, or unavailable.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate sign-in information and keep access secure. You must be old enough to use the service under the laws that apply to you; RoundZero is not directed to children under 13.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of content you create in RoundZero, such as messages, characters, maps, and uploads. You grant RoundZero a limited license to host, store, process, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate the service, including syncing across devices and sharing it with campaign members or integrations you enable.

You are responsible for the content you submit and for having the rights needed to use it in RoundZero.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use RoundZero to:

• harass, threaten, or abuse other people;
• post illegal content, or content you do not have rights to share;
• attempt to break, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service;
• impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation;
• bypass access controls, rate limits, or security measures;
• use automated systems in ways that harm the service or other users;
• use the service for spam, malware, or fraudulent activity.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations, abuse, or risk to users or the service.

5. AI features

Campaign AI is disabled by default. A campaign DM can enable it for that campaign, and AI is never required to use RoundZero.

When enabled, campaign data needed for the feature may be sent to the AI provider. Do not put personal or confidential information into an AI-enabled campaign if you do not want that provider to process it.

AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable. You remain responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it in play or elsewhere.

6. Integrations and third parties

RoundZero may offer optional integrations such as Discord outbound delivery. Your use of those services may also be governed by their terms and privacy practices. RoundZero remains responsible for its own handling of personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

RoundZero, its branding, software, and site materials are owned by RoundZero or its licensors. Dungeons & Dragons game data in RoundZero comes from the System Reference Document. D&D and related content belong to Wizards of the Coast.

8. Availability and changes

We may update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. During alpha or beta periods the service is provided as-is, may contain bugs, and may lose or change data. We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

9. Disclaimers

RoundZero is a free, experimental service. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. These Terms do not limit rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, RoundZero is not responsible for indirect losses caused by service interruptions, bugs, user-provided content, or third-party services. Nothing here excludes responsibility that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

11. Termination

You may stop using RoundZero at any time and may request account deletion through the account deletion page or by emailing us. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or if we need to protect the service or other users.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the project changes. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and we will provide additional notice when practical. If you do not agree with an update, stop using the service and request account deletion.
